Queen Ginger Loves Her Job.....

She does, really!  Even though the hours get long and hard during the holidays, it's fun... and it makes her feel good about herself.  And she's good at it! Really, she is!

There's only one problem with it:  Christmas Music!  I know, call her Scrooge- but really, try listing to that shit 8+ hours a day, every day, for 2 solid months!  It's enough to make a sane person crazy... and Queen G is already half gone!  There just aren't that many Christmas songs, so the loops are short, and the repetition is frequent!

And hence the problem:  Queen Ginger has an extreme sensitivity to Earworms!  Give her a catchy jingle and lilting melody and she'll hum the motherfucker all day long!  And EVERY Christmas song has a catchy jungle and a lilting melody!  Gahhhhhhhhhhh! Make it STOP!!!

Years past have had some doozies! She's been haunted by the likes of Natalie Cole, Ella Fitgerald, even Kay Star!

This year's worm is particularly noxious- and she CAN'T stop singing it!  Really, what's not to love about DORIS DAY?!!

I'm sorry to hear that tootes! We have it good over at the b way. This year we kept our music a regular mix of pop, jazz and lounge music with christmas songs being played like every third or fourth song then back to regular again. We may hear three christmas songs in a row if lucky. It must get on your nerves and can't help with your problem right now either!!!!

I love Christmas music....just not all day every day. And don't start playing it November 1st, which is what one of our stations has done!@

Oh the weather outside is frightful.
Seriously that is all your fault.
It's almost over Miss Ginger. You can then start your spring cleaning and gardening.

It's the same way here at the restaurant. If I hear "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" one more time, my head is gonna explode.

Oye, David- at least we don't have that one!!

I cannot begin to fathom that, I think I would crack!

There was a rule--MY rule--in the lab. Do NOT play Alvin and the Chipmunks in my presence. I must have looked dead serious and slightly stabby when I said it, because no one ever tried to play it around me.

I didn't play any Christmas music this year at all, and I even have some good stuff like Brian Setzer, and I still love the Rat Pack. But I just wasn't in the mood to hear it. :P Well, it's over till next year!
