Miss Ginger's Winter Wonderland!

So, it actually snowed in Texas, before Christmas! Never in her long and torrid life did Miss Ginger ever think she would see such a thing! She remembers as a kid saying "Momma, do you think we will EVER have a White Christmas?" to which Momma G would always reply "not unless you you grow up to be Bing Crosby!" Well, joke's on her- although it's probably a bit more like Rosmary Clooney!
And honestly, this "snow" is really more like "slush", but there's something very unglamorous about staying home from work to have a "slush" day!
Yes, you heard that right! The schools are closed- actually, they closed them early and sent the kids home. I didn't realize it, but apparently it is very dangerous for school children to sit in a classroom when there is even the slightest bit of ice on the ground! Go figure!
Right now, it's about 36 degrees outside, so it's barely even sticking. They say it's going to drop into the 20's after dark, and if that turns into ice on Houston's numerous bridges and overpasses, we could have a right kafuffle on our hands, considering no one here knows how to drive in those conditions. Oh, and it will be rush hour in one of the nation's most traffic congested cities!
That's why Miss G came home from work early.
So now, she's going to put on some holiday music, open a bottle of vino, and put her tree up!
Let it slush, let it slush, let it slush!

Why, that looks positively seasonal, my dear. How Currier & Ives!

Hope you had a great night. I was putting up the tree myself.

Girl, I don't think living there has any less bearing. Up here in Pa when we get like two inches, everything closes I swear! It's been actually warm here, just 70 the other day! I imagine it would be neat to see the snow when you guys never get to see the stuff.

If I drank a bottle of wine before putting up a Christmas tree it would look like Sanford & Son's junkyard. Hope you had a lot of fun & stayed warm. ~Mary
