One of the things Momma G always preached was how a proper Southern Lady should dress. No white before Easter or after Labor Day. Never wear a skirt or dress without hosiery. And never, no matter where you are going, leave the house without a girdle and slip. Here's why:

I don't appreciate you taking pictures of me down at the Wal-Mart.
It was laundry day...

Gurl- I know Momma Bunny taught you better!
My mother agrees with your philosophy. I hate girdles, but in some outfits, one must where at least supportive hose. I always wear a slip. What was this lady thinking!?
Reminds me of the lines beteween dolly Parton and Olympia Dukakis, watching a woman dance at the weddiing "it's like watching 2 puppies under a rug, and Dolly replieing I haven't left my house without lycra on these legs since I was 14.
I say thank god for lycra

Thank the Lord someone else believes in hosiery! I always shudder when observing beautiful attired, coifed and accessorized women with bare legs- Dannelle
dindes: I dindes know what to think about this word.
Amen! (Hugs)Indigo
Ewww! That could be in Glamour's Do's and Don'ts!
With a dress that's even the slightest bit clingy, hosiery is a must! And control top hose are the best.
When it comes to sundresses, I go without nylons, but cotton sundresses are not clingy like that. I don't wear nylons with skorts, but those are casual and more like shorts.
Bottom line--ha ha, get it?!--is that if you can see panties through your outfit, or if you've got some bulge issues going on, PUT ON THOSE PANTYHOSE! Yikes!
Hugs, Beth
